The goal of this project was to create a fictional eCommerce company and develop a unique brand including a logo, website, and branded products. This project was apart of my Brand Identity course while studying in the Graphic Design program at St. Lawrence College.
I chose to create an ultimate frisbee gear and apparel company called Chasing Plastic. The company values speed, efficiency, and friendliness in their services. As for their products, Chasing Plastic values providing high-quality, functional, and stylish gear to ultimate frisbee players across Canada.
The Chasing Plastic logo includes an image of a rabbit jumping free from a tilted oval. The rabbit represents agility, speed, and friendliness, which are some of the values of the company. The oval depicts a frisbee, and is tilted to create a sense of movement, as if it’s flying. The typeface of the wordmark is Avant Garde which is used in italics as another way to represent movement and speed. The complementary colour scheme of bright orange and blue creates an energetic look and feel. Each of these design decisions represents the brand values and products, and illustrates Chasing Plastic as an ultimate frisbee sports company.
